Busy Busy Busy

The holidays were VERY busy. We had things going on every weekend it seemed. Christmas parties, parades, and family gatherings. We had a great time, but, I am relieved that its all over and we can get back to routine. Routine is nice.

On Christmas Eve we spent the evening with my family. We ate lots of yummy appetizers and the kids opened presents. It was nice and relaxing. On Christmas day Jacob awoke and was thoroughly surprised at all that "Santa" brought. He had a great Christmas morning. And, I got a camera from Dan to capture it all!

On Christmas afternoon we headed out to Sacramento to spend the rest of the holiday with Scott and Debbie, Danyka and Whitney. (Dan's sister and family.) We had a great time and stayed two nights. The kids had fun playing dress up and we started to memorize the lovely songs that played on the girls new Princess Barbies. In the evenings the adults played several games and laughed a lot! It was a nice little get away.

On new years even around 8:30 pm Dan, Jacob, and I headed out on our flight to Denver. Jacob had a great time visiting his Grandma and Granddad. Dan seemed to have a nice time relaxing and hanging out too. The second night there though, I fell ill. Very ill. And I spent a lot of the rest of the trip laid out. I did have one day where I seemed to feel better and we were able to take a drive to find some snow. We found a great little spot and Jacob had a great first time playing in the snow. I was even feeling well enough to enjoy it quite a bit myself. Thankfully our flight home was uneventful and I made it through with out feeling too sick.

Now, back at home we are getting back into the swing of things. The weather is fantastic this week. I believe it got up to 78 yesterday. And yes folks, it is January. California DOES have its perks! I hope every one's holidays were great and the New Year is starting off wonderfully!

Love to all, The Elkin Family.
